found this bit on wikipedia - "the colouring material used to blacken the transparent pvc plastic mix is carbon black, the generic name for the finely divided carbon particles produced by the incomplete burning of a mineral oil based hydrocarbon. carbon black increases the strenght of the disc and renders it opaque." ..so it would be my guess that adding other colouring materials or leaving the disc transparent may give you a less durable product ..anyways, back to raymond naptali

I'm feeling a little deprived 'cause I've only got one of those. I thought I had the Roy Cousins dub album on CD but it is actually this one that I have: www.roots-archives.com/release/3713The one I do have, the Linval Thompson is on red vinyl. I bougt it new back in about 1990.

I actually bought several copies of the Lady Ann from an eBay-seller. He wanted £10 each (including shipping to Sweden). But I have no copies left, otherwise I could have sorted one out to you. Perhaps he still has some copies left of the album. It's a great album with the classic Gibbs sound on it. I've got a double of the Purpleman also ... but the other copy is on my wall with a great big 'ol crack in it. I think I have a photo of it online somewhere.

Yesterday I got this one. Bought it solely for the cover, since I already have it on Greensleeves (this one is on Volcano).

I really liked the way kalcidis presented some of his recent finds here with cover-pics and all, so I copied him style ( )and quickly made one too of some albums I bought yesterday at a record fair and one or two older arrivals. Maybe not as impressive as his list, but I'm very pleased with these additions to the collection! Now playing the Internatiional Heroes Dub album (middle row, second from right). Nice dubs by Scientist of Roy Cousins productions. Don Carlos' voice present in some of these tunes.

Of those I've heard there isn't a weak album on there!
Echo Minott - Great album I've hunted for quite some time. Glad to see that you bought it from that list.
Loving Feeling - Excellent lovers album. Bought it dirt cheap at a fair in Sweden and have been returning to it quite often.
Bad Boy - Cool cover! Cantankerous classic! Cho!
Clint on AMO - This one I've been very interested in for a long time. Would love to hear a review on it!
The Ranking Joe I think I didn't like too much when I've heart it. But I'm not sure if it is this album or one with a similar cover.
And I the Early B-cover is extremely cool! Perhaps my favorite. Damn, I love him and his »sexy front teeth« (as he states in one song).

Clint on AMO - This one I've been very interested in for a long time. Would love to hear a review on it! It's very nice I think, kalcidis. Some very dubbed-up (probably Tubby) Bunny Lee riddims, but also from other producers. Johhny Clarke's None Shall Escape... is an example from a B. Lee thing and Gregory Isaacs' Too Young To Be My Lover (forgot the exact title of the Gregory tune) of a none-Lee. Known riddims all the way. Nice set in a sleeve with hardly any info (all it gives are tracktitles and production credits to Clint Eastwood himself).

Nice catch! How's the Early B? And who's Philip Fanna??? BTW, I really like that Yabby You cover! I have it on CD with different artwork unfortunately.

I actually haven't listened to the Early & Phillip album yet. Saving it until I really have the time to sit down and listen to it. Phillip Fanna was a singer that released a couple of nice singles during the 80's. I have a small write up on him at reggaepedia; reggaelicious.pbwiki.com/Phillip%20Fanna

When I scanned the cover art for the Yabby album yesterday I saw something that surprised me a lot! It is done by Paul Smyckle apparently!
