It's a shame as there were a significant number of decent releases over the last few years and as far as I understand at least some of those involved in making the music were receiving money when they hadn't before.

Funnily enough, Trojan (whatever that means other than Duke Reid's sound system) issued this music for over 40 years and now Tim P tells us that "at least some" people were finally paid "over the last few years ". What I'm wondering about is the many who are not "producers" or "Lee Perry", who have never seen anything at all for the use of their voices, their songwriting or their musical virtuosity.

Funnily enough, Trojan (whatever that means other than Duke Reid's sound system) I've never seen a photo of Mr. Reid's van. I guess it was similar to this .. Maybe Jah Bill should consider it for his next model project.

What I said was that some people were receiving money when they hadn't beofore. It may not be perfect but it was a definite improvement on the previous set up with unauthorised releases of Coxsone and Harry Mudie product etc etc.
As for the singers and musicians. I agree entirely, unfortunately there is not one Reggae reissue label on the entire planet that is actively doing that to the best of my knowledge.

The HMV online store is showing practically all of the Trojan CDs as 'Unavailable' now.
