Jah Shaka? Never heard of him.
Great wall, Tony! Especially love the Shaka (The Dub Gorgon) vs. Fatman (The Big Man)

I have dozens of large boxes of these flyers. From the mid 1970s right to the present day. In the 1990s I collected them with some diligence and gathered together a box of tens of thousands every year. The earliest I've been filing, ie Four Aces, Phebes, Noreik, Palm Tree Club, Deptford Albany, Twelve Tribes dances, plus sounds like Shaka, Coxsone, Josiah, Fatman, Unity, Jahlovemuzik etc. I recognise many of my own flyers there on Swedon's wall.

You should scan these posters, Penny! Scan them and put them up on the web for everyone to enjoy.

Penny, when I think of publications like "Vintage Boss" I would guess that there may be a (limited) market for a publication based around these. Having said that, I do understand that you have a couple of books which are still in the pipeline and that would take priority. Of course any publication that was weighed down with images of flyers would be much more compelling if it contained plenty of narrative, also. A flyer section might make a nice addition to a web site such as Ian and Mikey's www.jamaicanlabelart.com or maybe even Dance Crasher (plug for Tim ;D).

I've given flyers to Mikey. He had Clarkey's first ever London show from me plus other labels and flyers. Tim P had never asked me before.

Some really nice ones there! Is there any way of getting higher resolutions scans of those flyers?
