Been listening non stop to the Mighty Maytones these last days and today I decided to have a little Eek session to break the melodic roots off with some gimmicky rub-a-dub niceness.
1. Down In The Ghetto (a.k.a. Ghetto Living a.k.a. Tell Them) 12" (EAD) 2. Terrorist In The City 12" (Greensleeves) 3. No Wicked Can't Reign 7" (Eek A Mouse) 4. Once A Virgin 12" (Joe Gibbs) 5. Assassinator 7" (56 Hope Road) 6. Do You Remember 7" (Thompson Sound) 7. Noahs Ark 12" (Greensleeves) 8. Christmas A Come 12" (Greensleeves) 9. Rude Boys A Foreign 12" (Mango) 10. My Father's Land 7" (Eek A Mouse)
I've been hunting that Down In The Ghetto 12" for some time. If someone here happens to have a spare copy PM me!

Always liked 'Georgie Porgy' on Jah Life 10" And a tune called 'Gunshot A Cry' (I think) - don't know if it was a single or an album track though - John Peel used to play it

No idea if it was a single but it is on Eek's "Assassinator" LP, Mr. Pier.

My favourite is Teacher, on Greensleeves. I love Eek A Mouse but can't listen to too many in a row, the novelty wears off after a few tunes.

I can understand the novelty point of view. Myself I listen to him intensely during a day or two but after that I can't touch his music for a good five or six months.

I still remember the time you went off reggae Kal. You've clearly been cured.

my favourite is rude boy go a foreign, already mentioned above. But also enjoy the utter madness that is 'taller than king kong' recorded for Jammys

Freddy; To be honest I listen less and less to reggae and what is more important or depressing is that even less reggae sounds interesting to my ears. Still hoping it's some kind of phase though.

the best one has to be the live one where he goes twice over that chiney sounding rhythm - california was one subject & eek a mouse ten feet tall the other. early stereogrpah or live at the aces type JA sound system LP.
otherwise 'terrorist in the city for me' , the ultimate 9/11 or 7/7 response tune . i am amazed that not one selector has picked up on it to say something. the closest was a very good YT tune about 7/7 which i heard rodigan and papa face play.
