I knew they were doing a live feed for Sting tonight and thought I'd check it out. Sadly it's $30 USD paid ahead of time and $50 at the time. I'm kind of undecided if this is good value or a rip-off, it's good to see Jamaican Music being made available but for something that'll peak at around 4am UK time I just can't spend that kind of money. I'll be checking youtube for clips tomorrow though!

Many thanks for that. I managed to see a few performances on playback that I'd previously listened to live... video is a hell of a lot better than just the audio.
All in all it was rather tame compared on previous years. Ninjaman didn't even clash anyone - just did some tunes, made some noise and left. Of what I saw/heard I enjoyed Jah Cure, Queen Ifrica and Movado.

Yes tim, can't say I was very excited about the performances either. Only heard Jah Cure, but he sounded good. Missed Movado, but did rate Queen Ifrica and Tarrus Riley quite a bit. Busy did ok too I thought, as did Chuck Fenda and Richie Spice.
Speaking of Ifrica, I was quite surprised to hear her go into the bun batty boy lyrics, as did Lutan Fyah after her. I've seen both live myself, but no words about it then nor on any of their records I own.

She's a good artist (Below The Waist was in my top few tunes of 2007) but Sting is a bashment crowd and she probably played to the audience. Its a shame as I thought she was doing well without resorting to that cheap trick.

Lutan Fyah saying stuff like that? That's a bit surprising... I thought you had to pay for this Sting concert, no?? And on the flyer - under the Pioneers category ==== who is Immanuel Walsh? The rest of the 'pioneers' i have heard of but how did Immanuel Walsh get thrown into that batch [$$$$]

Yeah, Lutan opened with it if I recall correct. No idea where this link came from J., but I know it worked and was free!

Funny, Immanuel Walsh is the first thing that hit me as well and I went off Googling. Maybe they just found that Junior Reid's turban wouldn't fit into the pioneers section properly. ;D

No idea where this link came from J., but I know it worked and was free! Sounds as unorganized as a regular reggae concert then... Hey Freddy, your 'too big for a turban' comment gave made me think... what a perfect for advertising --- with the size of some of those bobo lids, you could squeeze 6, maybe 8, nice size ads on those hats. In fact, the guy right in the middle of the flyer, Shane Q - if you squint real tight, it looks like wearing a giant Guinness turban. Ok, I'll go get my straight jacket, oh wait, I just mailed it to someone that needs it pretty bad - should take 5-7 days airmail, I hope.
